German made mini SUVs
It seems that car makers have identified mini SUV to be the future of auto industry. VW and Audi have both been developing newer and smaller SUVs.
According to rumors, VW is preparing for it's new tiny SUV which is smaller than the VW Tiguan, a 5 doors 5 seaters with interior space as minimum as the VW Polo. 1.2-liters and 1.4-liters TSI and a small diesel could be the main engines. Expect to see it on the road before 2013.
Like wise, Audi has also planned for it's Q1 mini SUV, smaller than the Q3 that has recently been leaked out. The Audi Q1 will be a 2 plus 2 hatchback front wheel drive. The high end Q1 could come with Quattro's full time 4x4. The Q1 could be introduced as a City SUV and/or Multi-Purposes small hatchback. The Q1 may be introduced earlier than the VW mini SUV.
